Amazing jQuery Color Picker

by naspinski 9/17/2008 10:28:00 AM

This is by far the smoothest, most compact color picker I have found

Looking for a new color picker today, and I cam across this beauty!  The 'Farbtastic' color picker... what a name!  It requires jQuery, but is easily the best of it's kind I have ever found.  It is extremely easy to implement and looks/works great (I really like the fact that it is mroe compact than most).

I just finished making a style customizer for one of our intranet applications that uses this to re-write our css and hence change the theme based on the user input.  This tool was super easy to work with and cut my development time down by a huge margin.  I can't say enough about this plugin!  Hopefully I can get a post up about the online css customizer pretty soon.

Facelift to AuctionConstructor.com

by naspinski 6/11/2008 3:57:00 PM

I did a whole facelift to one of my sites, let me know what you think

I got bored of how my site AuctionConstructor.com was looking, so I revamped it completely.  Now I am no designer by a long shot, but I think it looks pretty good, also a little easier to navigate if I do say so myself!  Please check it out and let me know if you have any input.  Thank you!

Exporting a Gridview to Excel

by naspinski 3/14/2008 12:00:00 AM

Matt Berseth supplies an awesome way to export to excel with pretty much no hassle whatsoever

Just add in his class and call it withing as event like this

GridViewExportUtil.Export("save_as_this.xls", this.GridViewName);
And that is it, nothing else is necessary. And the code is very simple and easy to follow. Here is the link to Matt's site with more details on it.

Just what you would think, a resource for open source web design...

This is a great resource for when you need a quick template, or just a bump in the old creativity/idea department.

Free Glassy Button Generator with Rollover

by naspinski 2/11/2008 8:48:00 AM

I am a graphical Neanderthal, this simple tool helps me make fancy 'glass' buttons - easy to slice and use for sliding doors as well

Pretty much explains itself, this site makes glassy buttons easy, just provide the colors and dimensions (text if you want) and you are done.  This is a nice tool to use as you can just make one image without text and slice the end off for use with sliding doors - that way you don't have to make 500 images for your site, just a few depending on verticle sizes/colors.  The tool also provides you with rollover changes, pretty slick.  The downloadable .zip includes .png, .jpg and .gif files.
